Deciding between an assorted card set and single occasion cards? We compare the trade-offs to help you choose the best option for your gifting needs.
Quick answer
If you gift often or want variety, an assorted card set offers flexibility and value. For a single special event, a dedicated occasion card feels more personal.
Why choose an assorted card set?
An assorted card set, like the Spring Blossoms Assorted Letterpress Card Set, gives you multiple designs in one box. This is ideal if you send thank-you notes, birthday wishes, or just want a stash for spontaneous greetings. The variety means you're never caught without a card that fits the moment.
When single occasion cards shine
For milestone events like weddings or anniversaries, a single occasion card can feel more curated. You can match the design exactly to the recipient and the event, which often feels more thoughtful than picking from a set. However, you'll need to buy them one by one, which can add up.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Flexibility vs. specificity: Assorted sets work for multiple occasions, but single cards let you tailor the design to one event.
- Cost per card: Sets often offer lower cost per card, while single cards may be pricier but feel more intentional.
- Surprise vs. control: Mystery packs like the Discontinued Letterpress and Indigo Cards add an element of surprise, but you lose the ability to choose each design.
