Learn how to pick a versatile card set that works for birthdays, thank-yous, and more. Compare assorted sets, postcard sets, and letterpress bundles.

Quick Answer

For a card set that covers multiple occasions, choose an assorted set with a variety of designs, like the Geoflorals Assorted Letterpress Card Set or Autumn Beauties Letterpress Assorted Set. These give you flexibility without committing to a single theme.

Why Assorted Sets Are the Most Versatile

Assorted card sets are designed to offer a range of designs, so you can match the card to the recipient and the occasion. Instead of buying separate boxes for birthdays, thank-yous, and congratulations, one assorted set covers many bases. This is especially useful if you like to keep a small stash of cards on hand for unexpected events.

The Geoflorals set includes six different floral patterns in red, lilac, and green, making it easy to find a card that feels personal. The Autumn Beauties set offers warm autumn hues and hand-illustrated blooms, ideal for fall birthdays, Thanksgiving, or just a seasonal note. Both sets work well for a variety of occasions because the designs are not tied to a specific holiday.

Consider the Recipient and Your Style

Think about who you'll be sending cards to most often. If your recipients appreciate natural, botanical aesthetics, a floral assorted set will feel thoughtful. If you prefer a more minimalist or modern look, a postcard set might be a better fit.

Postcards are also a great option for casual notes, travel updates, or quick thank-yous. They are less formal than a folded card, but they still feel personal. The Start Small Postcard Set, for example, features a digital woodblock print and is printed on recycled paper, making it a good choice for eco-conscious senders.

Quality and Materials Matter

Letterpress cards are known for their tactile quality and the deep impression left by the press. If you want a card that feels substantial and special, a letterpress card set is worth the investment. The Geoflorals set is printed on 100% recycled paper, and the Autumn Beauties set is part of a new patterned boxed series, so you get both beauty and sustainability.

If you're on a tighter budget, a postcard set offers a more affordable way to send something handmade-looking. The Start Small Postcard Set is priced lower and still uses recycled materials, so you can stay eco-friendly without overspending.

Decision Rules for Choosing a Multi-Occasion Card Set

Occasion Variety: If you need cards for multiple occasions, choose an assorted set with diverse designs. Look for sets that include both formal and casual styles. Check the design range to ensure it covers birthdays, thank-yous, and other common events.
Formality Level: For formal occasions like weddings or sympathy notes, opt for folded cards with envelopes. For casual notes, postcards are a lighter, quicker option. Consider the envelope factor: folded cards feel more formal, postcards more relaxed.
Material Preferences: If sustainability is important, look for recycled paper or eco-friendly packaging. Letterpress adds a premium feel, but postcards are a budget-friendly alternative. Decide if you want the tactile quality of letterpress or the affordability of postcards.
Storage and Gifting: If you plan to keep the set for your own use, a boxed set with envelopes is convenient. If you're giving the set as a gift, a repurposable box adds value. Think about how you'll store or present the cards to maximize their usefulness.
